Time and again, whenever I and a few girlfriends of mine discuss about the issues on gender equality, have we not discussed about our personal incidents. The stereotypical society that we grew up in has always curtailed upon us from developing many skill sets. Many goals which we could have achieved. Many dreams which still lie buried deep inside our hearts.
It’s been sometime. Sometime since I took up my pen and the paper to figure out the sequence of a post. In fact, to plan a new one. Personal things can damage your work life you see. But certain personal things are unavoidable. They are like that puzzle which you have always been trying hard to solve but to no avail! Like that of the quagmire, which, no matter how hard you try to pull yourself out of it, you keep going inside it.
Whenever a new trend hits the streets, I get very skeptical. I had the same feelings when I saw TRACKPANTS trending for something other than running. And after seeing them enough, I could not help create a look myself. Below (and above) is how I would wear my trackpants outside the gym:
After the harsh winter and the almost- nil spring, here in bangalore, layering in summer is the last thing you’d like to talk about. In fact, many of you might even nod your head in disbelief when I say layering can be done in summer too(Yes, kill me in this heat!).
While growing up I always dreamt of leading a lavish life with spacious bedrooms and luxe bathrooms. Recently, 27th of April, 2017, to be precise, when I was invited to the launch of KEHA CASA, a sprawling 8000 sq. ft. experience centre at Bengaluru’s prominent Kensington Road in Ulsoor, the same childhood memories and thoughts engulfed my head. The founders- Kekin Shah and Abdul Hameed Khan have set up an exclusively luxury area and I couldn’t help but gaze into it with an open mouth!
Time and again, I keep disappearing from the ‘SOCIAL MEDIA CIRCUS’. I am just back from a weekend getaway, some place distant from civilisation. Time and again, I keep stressing on the me- time factor. Days spent in the sun with eyes half closed, feeling the hot and humid air, sweating and soaking in the pool water, some conversations with the friends, some silent walks, gazes into the horizon, smiling at the stars, being local with the cuisine, late night gossips and waking up with swollen eyes and heavy heads!
A woman has many faces and many roles to play. Through this photo- series, I wanted to portray how QUIRKBOX has got it covered for the various roles of a woman. And it being a Spring- Summer collection, there goes flowers and coloured eye make up for the styling.
People! So how has the week treated you so far? I watched a Bollywood movie called TRAPPED last night and boy, it was nice. It is starting to get too hot in Bangalore, don’t you feel? Today’s blog is about a few key essentials for summer and how to nail them. We have to admit that we are all big time suckers for some timeless summer pieces like that of a shirt dress or a crop shirt. They basically never go out of trend and you can style them in multiple permutations! The best part is that they can be worn in different weathers with a few layerings done.
I have never seen a bride wearing the colour ‘WHITE’. Not in our hindu tradition. Usually. But when a girl is being forced into a marriage, does the color matter anymore? Many women and various adolescent girls are being forced into marriage. Every year. Across the country. And beyond it.
Humming the song ‘Comfortably Dumb’ by one of the greatest Funk Bands of all time- Extreme while writing this. It was the first weekend after my accident, that I went for an outdoor photo shoot with this beautiful couple- Justin & Priyanka Jacob. I remember waking up early in the morning and happily wearing my make- up. The styling for these plaid pants was already planned during my (ETERNAL) bedrest. Actually upon receiving the parcel containing these pants, I knew I had to be a scoolboy for them. The previous night I had shot the series – FRIDA ( you might have seen already ),and, I think it’s one of the best works that I have put forward. I was content in the morning. And I believe that’s what is important when you are out for a shoot- a happy mood and a lot of focus!
