HOW REAL IS THE UNREAL WORLD

It isn’t long that I wrote the article ‘In the shoes of a blogger’. You can see and tell how gruesome the life of a blogger is. Surrounded by negative energy of haters and competitive counterparts, the life of a blogger is pretty mechanical which starts and ends with ‘HOW A BRAND WANTS YOU TO WORK’. I also mentioned how it’s all about the MUTUALISM and that originality and genuineness is going for a toss, well, mostly. Almost everybody is in the tryst of making it big without actually working hard for it.

I keep meeting a couple of bloggers here and there and then it’s so surprising, rather shocking to see how they are so different than how they behave in the Social Circus. The Unreal World, I mean. After the article mentioned above, I managed to score a few more haters for being so blunt and rude in trying to be honest! Maybe I am! But then there are also people whom I met through Social Media and I am proud to call them friends at today’s date. I met two of my closest friends Anusha of The Small Town Blogger and Saakshi of The Mode Muse in the unreal world and we are best of friends today.

Most of the Delhi folks I know today and in fact, whom I can call close friends, yeah I met them all through Instagram. This thing called Social Media has its pros and cons but my sole point is why do we act so different in the unreal world at times? When we slay in the real world by doing multi- tasking and rocking every single shit we do, why do we have to try to be somebody else in the unreal world? I am so glad to have met so many people in the unreal world and they are a part of my life now.

One of the Delhi Bloggers whom I have been following for almost a year now is Charuta of MODAYALDA. Her unique styling of Indian Experimental Fusion and her DIY projects of ADAGIOBYMY has drawn my attention and when I booked my tickets for Delhi, she was one of the first POCs I chose to let this know. It was really very sweet of her to propose a collaboration and really overwhelming to know that she is interested in working with me. Then again, the photographer was also contacted via Instagram. Not to forget the assistance provided by the very sweet Akshita was also through Instagram. My point is this world isn’t that bad at all. Even though we stumble upon many people who leave us with a shock by being religiously different than their sweet versions in the unreal world, there also exist a lot of genuine people in the unreal world who become important part of your life!

CONCEPT | A collaboration post between two bloggers by wearing thrifted clothes from the streets of Sarojini Nagar Market, New Delhi

LOCATION | JANTAR MANTAR, New Delhi

For this collaboration, we decided to sport outfits thrifted from the Sarojini Nagar Market. Basically we are wearing outfits worth 500 INR each. Another point that I would like to bring to notice is, style is one’s extension of who he or she is. It shouldn’t change as per the days of a week. It is who you are. It doesn’t have to be loud and hyped brands. If you have it in you, you will slay in anything, the cheapest of thrifted clothes! Your style is your identity. Talking of which, the next post would be on SIGNATURE STYLE CO-ORDINATES. Stay tuned and I hope you liked today’s entry.

~ Stylishly Yours,

S

  1. Firstly, the brands mail us with things to be done as if we are working for them and don’t have our own perspective. Blogging is just turning into an ugly buy me – do that scene sadly. But people like you with strong personality and attitude will help grow positivity around. And yes! THANK GOD I MET YOU! Loads of love and kisses my boruah! <3

    1. Exactly. YOU SHOULD DO THIS / THIS IS ALLOWED! LIKE COME ON! Thanks for your lovely words and you know you are the first person with whom I share everything 🙂 Can’t imagine life without you HAHA!

  2. I know! The best part of blogging is the people you meet. I met Anupriya 7 years back and I absolutely cannot imagine my life without her anymore.
