I have never seen a bride wearing the colour ‘WHITE’. Not in our hindu tradition. Usually. But when a girl is being forced into a marriage, does the color matter anymore? Many women and various adolescent girls are being forced into marriage. Every year. Across the country. And beyond it.
Humming the song ‘Comfortably Dumb’ by one of the greatest Funk Bands of all time- Extreme while writing this. It was the first weekend after my accident, that I went for an outdoor photo shoot with this beautiful couple- Justin & Priyanka Jacob. I remember waking up early in the morning and happily wearing my make- up. The styling for these plaid pants was already planned during my (ETERNAL) bedrest. Actually upon receiving the parcel containing these pants, I knew I had to be a scoolboy for them. The previous night I had shot the series – FRIDA ( you might have seen already ),and, I think it’s one of the best works that I have put forward. I was content in the morning. And I believe that’s what is important when you are out for a shoot- a happy mood and a lot of focus!
” Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly? “- FRIDA KAHLO de RIVERA. After practising the make up and the hair style a zillion times so as not to overdo it and atleast look 10% as artistic as her ; after watching almost all the documentaries based on her and the 2002 movie a couple of times ; after a lot of research and reading, I give you
How have you been doing? Girbosses, eh? Now recently, Bewakoof.com , actually THE bewakoof.com contacted me for a collaboration and I couldn’t be happier. But while approaching me, they asked me to blog about a different apparel altogether and I chose to pick this pair of RAT- CHEESE PYJAMAS!! I am a little choosy on stuff, I know. But when I check something out, I try to visualize the idea and this is what I thought of when I checked out the official website of Bewakoof.com.
The sound of the Loud chants for the deity, the hustle of the crowd, the hot and delicious Jalebis, the never ending queues at the pandalls, people donning their new attires…Durga Puja! You’ re being missed! Being brought up in Assam, this is a festival which is very close to my heart. Back there, the Pandalls compete amongst each other and make the deity look more beautiful and powerful. You can’t beat the old crowd in the fashion trends and nice attires, what to talk of the college goers! The food stalls, the stalls for varieties of toys and all blah blah blah, all these is a scene to experience once in a while!
I’ve been waiting and trying to sum up the feeling of my favourite season in words! How I missed you Autumn! It’s when the sky is tired of rains, the autumn sets in. It basically comes as a relief to all the chatters and nags of the rain.
